"One Hour Bracelet and Ten Minute Pendant"
silver, copper, glass and carbonized sand
This set was made for my graduation show "Perception of Time" from the University of Georgia.
They are named for the amount of sand encapsulated within each glass bubble. Each compartment holds exactly 600 sand grains, one for every second within a 10 minute period of time.
Each compartment also holds a small crystal produced over a two week period from a scientific crystal growing kit. It is to represent what can be yielded from passing time.
"Ten Minute Pendant" also contains watch parts.
